I love the work of director Ridley Scott and actor Joaquin Phoenix, and the news that they were working together on a historical film (one of my favorite themes) made me happy enough to work on this unconventional poster model.
I was inspired by the famous painting by Jacques-Louis David to imagine the actor in the same pose in which Napoleon was portrayed, but from a different, frontal angle. It was a very interesting exercise and I was quite satisfied with the result.
